So, some “lucky person” will eat lots and never add a pound, others will eat quite the same and see how their waist start to grow.
In fact most of the “lucky ones” don’t do much snacking and gesticulate more. It’s highly related to their personality which is affected by genetics and hormones.
Activity
And that’s not about strength training.
Workouts are overestimated in terms of caloric expenditure! For a beginner around 200kcal per hour! Sad I know. (It’s not even a chocolate bar, well maybe a small one)
For an advanced athlete it’s about 500kcal at maximum. But even then, how easy it is to consume those calories?
So instead focus on being active outside gym. That’s a great opportunity to go for walks, hiking and get work done around the house.
Muscle to fat ratio
Well not that simple. Even an extra 60lbs/30kg of muscles won’t do much to your daily caloric expenditure if you sit on the coach. The real difference comes when physical activity is done, and the difference is huge!

Protein
While fats use about 0.3% of calories to be absorbed (in simple terms), proteins use 20-30%. So eating 100 calories purely made of proteins, in fact we get 70-80 calories. Still don’t overeat proteins as it’s gonna affect your liver!
Take in consideration these factors and you’ll be able to eat more.
