Summary
Over 24 years experience working in social care, across a range of roles and responsibilities.
During that time, I saw first-hand the complexity of the work — the pressure, the pace, and the responsibility that comes with supporting others. But more than anything, I noticed something that sat beneath almost every challenge: communication — and the impact when it breaks down.
I saw how a lack of clarity, misunderstanding, or unspoken tension could affect not only outcomes, but people — how they felt at work, how they interacted with others, and how they carried that into their lives beyond it.
Over time, I became increasingly interested in understanding not just what was happening in these situations, but why.
Why do conversations become difficult?
Why do people feel unable to speak openly?
Why do small issues sometimes escalate into much bigger problems?
Alongside my work in social care, I developed a strong interest in more holistic approaches to wellbeing, reflection, and mindset.
The Wildlight GROWTH framework was created as a way to bring these insights together into something practical.
A tool that could be used in real situations — not just theory.
It provides a simple, structured way to:
