2015 - 2019My doctorate explored the events and conditions that lead to moments of insight during coaching sessions. It examined how clients experience sudden shifts in understanding, perspective and self-awareness, and considered the patterns or structures that may support these breakthroughs. By focusing on lived experience, the research sought to identify how insight develops within the coaching relationship and how coaches can create the conditions for meaningful, lasting change.

Interests and Hobbies
Beyond my professional work, I have a lifelong fascination with excellence, exploration and human achievement.
I have followed Formula 1 passionately since 1985. What draws me to it is not simply the racing, but the relentless pursuit of competitive advantage, the precision, innovation, teamwork and technological development required to perform at the very highest level.
My work in paranormal research and investigation reflects an equally strong curiosity about the unexplained and the possibility that there may be more to human existence than we currently understand. I approach the subject with an open mind, disciplined enquiry and a researcher’s determination to examine experience rather than dismiss it.
Military history is also deeply personal to me. Having served for 37 years in the Royal Navy as both a regular officer and reservist, my interest is grounded in lived experience, tradition, leadership and an enduring respect for those who have served.
